This piece is about discovering and getting to know our culture.
All my love began with Petrykivka painting, and when I started this artwork, I was painting for myself — to distract myself and to find myself.
The deeper I explored, the more "The Touch" became layered with symbolism, patterns, scripts, and ornaments that I drew from our traditional embroidery.

The last photo shows the finished version — my first interpretation of Petrykivka.
Quite bright and naïve, just like I was at that time.
After that, I covered the entire canvas with black paint.
It took a long time to wash it off, but in my opinion, the painting only became better — more complex and multi-layered
